Treatment of Giant Aortic Aneurysm Using Hybrid Technique

This day, on May 15, 1934, Prof. Volodos Mykola Leontiyovych was born. He is a man who in Kharkiv in 1985, for the first time in the world, implanted a stent-graft to treat an aortic aneurysm.
It is symbolic that on the eve of Prof. Volodos’s birthday, in the Heart Institute a similar procedure was performed – aortic arthroplasty of a giant aneurysm of the thoracic aorta. The operation was performed by the head of the Department of Angiography and Endovascular Surgery Andriy Khokhlov with a team of doctors – Oleg Zelenchuk, Maria Slyubyk, Kostyantyn Boiko. The patient feels well after the surgery.
