In general, the conference reflected the implementation of several priority areas of cardiac surgery and interventional cardiology in the work of the Heart Institute – one of the leading cardiac surgical and cardiology centers of Ukraine.
The 25th successful heart transplant for this year took place in cooperation with our colleagues from the Poltava Regional Hospital named after Sklifosovsky. This time, our team saved as many as four lives.

Today, a solemn press conference, “Life goes on,” was held, dedicated to the first child-to-child heart transplant in Ukraine, to draw public attention to the achievements of Ukrainian medicine and the importance of the culture of donation.

At the Heart Institute, a 6-year-old girl received a heart transplant, for which she had been waiting for 1.5 years. The uniqueness of this transplantation lies in the fact that the donor was a child for the first time in Ukraine.
Yuliana calls July 8 her second birthday because it was on this day that her transplant took place.
17-year-old Yuliana was in the intensive care unit of the Heart Institute for a month, waiting for a donor organ.
The rich program of the 4-hour narrowly thematic workshop included reports on ECG diagnosis and differential diagnosis of paroxysmal tachycardia, methods of examination of arrhythmological patients, catheter treatment of heart rhythm disorders and the role of implanted devices.
For over a year, 40-year-old Valentyn fought the disease and waited for his new heart; for over a year, his older brother defended the hearts of Ukrainians, our hearts, in the war. He was by his side during the entire operation.
The implementation of the scientific program was made possible thanks to the efforts of department heads and leading specialists of the Heart Institute, teachers of the Department of Functional Diagnostics of the Shupyk National Institute of Health of Ukraine.
