Simultaneous Operation on an 87-Year-Old Patient
We want to share with you an incredible story that proves that age is just a number when it comes to lust for life.
Recently, our team performed an extremely complex operation on 87-year-old Kim Pylypovich. Imagine: a person is almost 90 years old, yet he is ready to fight for her health and the joy of life!
During one intervention, two teams of the Heart Institute simultaneously performed:
▫Aorto-coronary bypass (three shunts);
▫️Removal of tumor thrombus from the inferior vena cava and right atrium;
▫️Removal of the left kidney with a tumor;
▫️Removal of gall bladder with stones.
The operations were performed by Prof. Borys Todurov and Mykhailo Zagriychuk, Head of the Department of Transplantation and Surgery of Abdominal Organs.
Kim Pylypovich has already returned home to Odessa and enjoys walking along the embankment with his son.
