XVII Scientific and Practical Conference with International Participation “Days of Arrhythmology in Kyiv”

On November 13–14, 2025, the Heart Institute of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine hosted the XVII Scientific and Practical Conference with international participation “Days of Arrhythmology in Kyiv.”
The purpose of these annual arrhythmology forums is to highlight the most important advances in the diagnosis, interventional treatment, and pharmacological management of cardiac arrhythmias.
The conference was moderated by Professor Oleh Zharinov, Head of the Department of Functional Diagnostics at Shupyk National University of Healthcare of Ukraine, and Professor Yurii Karpenko, Head of the Department of Internal Medicine No. 1 at Odesa National Medical University. The event was registered as part of the Continuous Professional Development (CPD) program for cardiologists and physicians of related specialties.
The opening remarks were delivered by Professor Borys Todurov, Corresponding Member of the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine and General Director of the Heart Institute.

The scientific program covered the most up-to-date aspects of interventional arrhythmology, diagnostics, and pharmacological treatment of cardiac arrhythmias. Key presentations addressed:

  • Assessment of atrial fibrillation burden
  • Management of patients with recovered ejection fraction following electrical cardioversion
  • Highlights of the new compendium on antiarrhythmic therapy
  • Application of electroporation technology in atrial fibrillation
  • Controversial aspects of arrhythmia diagnostics in patients with implanted antiarrhythmic devices

A particularly notable lecture was delivered by Professor Petar Platonov of Lund University (Sweden), focusing on the role of genetic research in arrhythmology.

Participation and Outcomes

Leading specialists from arrhythmology centers and academic departments in Kyiv, Lviv, Lutsk, and Odesa contributed to the scientific program.

The success of the conference reflects the active collaboration and cohesion of arrhythmology centers in implementing innovative approaches to the diagnosis and treatment of arrhythmias and conduction disorders, as well as the continuous professional development of cardiologists and related specialists.
