Surgical Correction of a Rare Pre-Coartic Aortic Aneurysm in Child
August, 18, 2020
13-year-old Diana entered the pediatric department of the Heart Institute with a very rare and life-threatening pathology – a pre-coartic aneurysm of the aortic arch.
The pathology was diagnosed by accident during a routine X-ray examination at the place of residence. After further research, the diagnosis was confirmed.
The girl was operated on successfully, aneurysm resection was performed with aortic arch plasticity and translocation of the left subclavian artery to the left carotid artery, because she was included in the aneurysm, without the use of synthetic prostheses.
Diana was discharged home on the 8th day after the surgery.
