The main achievement is the start of a large research project on the preservation and transportation of donor hearts and cooperation in the field of graft biobanking. We express our sincere gratitude to Prof. Christine Falk and Prof. Fabio Ius for organizing the training and support.

The topics of the master class covered the most relevant aspects of the diagnosis and treatment of atherosclerosis, acute and chronic forms of coronary artery disease. All reports included a discussion of clinical examples and typical scenarios that may occur in the practice of a cardiologist.
A unique operation took place at the Heart Institute e – a 30-year-old patient underwent the first heart retransplant in Ukraine.
The Children’s Department of the Heart Institute has established a unique achievement – 45 Ross procedures in 2024. This is the largest number of such operations in the history of Ukrainian cardiac surgery!
With the assistance of the Minister of Health of Lower Saxony Dr. Andreas Philippi, a press conference was held with Prof. Borys Todurov, the directors of the MNN clinic, and the Minister, where the main issues of assistance to Ukraine, promotion of training exchange between doctors of the clinics in the field of transplantation and future scientific cooperation were discussed.
For the first time, Ukraine took part in the DTG 2024 German congress of transplant specialists in Freiburg. The country was represented by the Heart Institute’s team: Prof. Borys Todurov, Sofia Chaikovska, Ihor Kuzmych, Mykola Melnyk. The invitation of the Director of the Heart Institute, Prof. Borys Todurov to give a speech at the opening of the congress was especially honorable.
