Doctors of the Heart Institute Spoke at the International Congress in Athens
In March, leading cardiac surgeons and cardiologists from across Europe gathered in the capital of Greece for the 1st International Congress of the Balkan Society of Pediatric and Congenital Heart Disease.
Professor Oleksandr Romanyuk, pediatric cardiac surgeon, spoke about how over the past quarter of a century the Heart Institute has developed and refined the modified Ross procedure — a complex intervention for correcting aortic valve defects in children.
He was joined by cardiac surgeon Oleksandr Murtarakos, who shared his expertise in applying neocuspidization techniques to treat pediatric aortic valve pathology.
Special gratitude goes to Afksendiyos Kalangos—renowned cardiac surgeon, professor, and founder of a charitable foundation that has long supported the advancement of pediatric cardiac surgery and international collaboration. Thanks to his support, the doctors of the Heart Institute were able to participate in this important professional event and present their work on the international stage.
Exchange of experience, new ideas, and international cooperation are what help save more lives.
