Participation of the Heart Institute’s Specialists in the 36th Annual EACTS Congress
On October 5-8, 2022, the 36th Annual Congress of the European Association of Cardiothoracic Surgery (EACTS) was held in Milan (Italy). It is the most anticipated cardiac surgery forum in Europe and one of the most-rated cardiac surgery congresses in the world.
The Congress was attended by about 5000 delegates from 100 countries. 150 sessions were held.
It is nice to note that for the second year in a row, specialists of the Heart Institute are participating in the Congress not only as delegates but also as speakers. The Head of the Department of Acquired Heart Defects, Ihor Mokryk, shared with his colleagues our experience of performing the Ozaki operation. This was one of two lectures on aortic valve neocuspidization at the Congress.
Serhiy Sudakevych, a perfusionist, spoke about the modern methods of treating heart wounds in our Institute. Our presentations went well and aroused lively interest among colleagues.
Despite the difficult conditions of the war, the Heart Institute not only provides all the necessary assistance to our patients but also continues to implement the most modern medical achievements in clinical practice, conducts a scientific analysis of treatment results, and shares our experience with colleagues from around the world.
