Transcatheter Aortic Valve Implantation on 84-Year-Old Patient
Recently at the Heart Institute, a transfemoral (implantation) implantation of the last-generation prosthesis of the aortic valve was conducted on an 84-year-old woman having been diagnosed with critical aortic stenosis with apparent calcification of the openings of the aortic valve. The procedure was fulfilled by the team of doctors (Andrew Maksakov, Maxim Shimanko, Konstantin Boyko, Nikolai Stan Kolya Stan, Natalia Ponich Gorobievsky, Yana Antonyuk, Maria Slyubik) headed by Andriy Hohlov, head of the Department of Endovascular Surgery and Angiography.
