Recently, doctors at the Heart Institute of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine saved the life of a little French citizen who was only two days old. The girl had a rare pathology – transposition of the main vessels and a ventricular septal defect (dTMA + VSD).

Recently, at the Heart Institute, another implantation of a Micra miniature pacemaker by Medtronic was performed.
The operation was performed by the Head of the Department of Cardiac Arrhythmias, interventional arrhythmologist Oleksandr Grytsay. He is the only doctor in Ukraine who performs these operations.
Last night, on June 8, 2021, at the Heart Institute another transplant took place for our 60-year-old patient Yuriy Goryachy from the Vinnytsia region, otherwise, his life was in danger. 5 years ago Yuriy suffered a heart attack, stenting, and eventually implantation of a pacemaker.
On the night of May 24, 2021, a heart transplant was performed at the Heart Institute. A young 29-year-old man from the Sumy region suffered from dilated cardiomyopathy and has been observed at the Heart Institute for 3 years. Transplantation was the only chance to prolong life. And so it happened.
From May 18 to 23, 2021, a team of doctors from the Heart Institute led by Borys Todurov shared their experience in Kyrgyzstan at the invitation of colleagues from the Research Institute of Heart Surgery and Organ Transplantation of the Ministry of Health in Bishkek. A team of doctors of the Heart Institute implanted an Evolut R valve in an 83-year-old patient with critical aortic stenosis and a gradient on the valve of 120 mm Hg. This is the largest size of prosthesis that currently exists.
A hybrid surgery was performed at the Heart Institute on a patient with acute thoracic aortic dissection. The peculiarity of this pathology was that in this case the bleeding from a ruptured aorta had evolved.
The team of the Heart Institute translocated the left subclavian artery to the unaffected area of the aortic arch and implanted an endovascular endoprosthesis for the thoracic aorta.
