January 31 – February 1, 2020, the First School of Hemostasis was held at the Heart Institute, thanks to the cooperation of the Heart Institute, the Odessa National Medical University, the Odessa Scientific and Practical Society of Hemostasiologist, Anesthesiologists, and Reanimatologists as well as Medvoice Medical Science and Education Platform.
Updated in a literal and figurative sense, 56-year-old Vasily Migovka, who received a new heart on December 24, 2019, being happy, full of energy, new dreams and desires returns home to his large family.
On December 24, 2019, at the Kovel Territorial Medical Association’s hospital, a team of specialists of the Heart Institute, led by the director of the Institute, Professor Boris Todurov, successfully completed a heart transplant to a recipient with severe dilated cardiomyopathy.
On December 17, 2019, specialists of the Heart Institute took part in the scientific and practical conference at the Medical Institute of Sumy State University. After the conference, doctors of the Heart Institute held a consultative reception of patients and conducted a master-class on the diagnosis of congenital and acquired heart defects.
November 28, 2019, at the Heart Institute, a Scientific and practical conference with international participation “The role of laboratory research in modern cardiac surgery and cardiology” was held.
26 November 2019, at the Heart Institute a team of specialists led by the Director of the Institute Professor Borys Todurov implanted a mini-mechanical heart to a 22-year-old patient from Mykolayiv with a diagnosis of dilated cardiomyopathy. The operation was successful.
A significant event for cardiologists, arrhythmologists, cardiac surgeons, specialists in related specialties was the XI scientific-practical conference with international participation “Arrhythmology Days in Kiev”, which took place on November 21-22, 2019 at the Heart Institute of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine.
The 3rd International Conference “Reconstructive Heart Surgery”, co-sponsored by the Heart Institute, was held with great success at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Kyiv on October 24-25, 2019.
On October 22, 2019, at the Heart Institute, for the first time in Ukraine, a mechanical heart of the new generation was implanted – Medtronic Heart Ware 2 which is one of the most widely used Left Ventricular Assistance Devices (LVAD) in the world.
On September 28, 2019, a momentous event for everyone who has relation to transplantology took place in Ukraine – a group of about thirty Ukrainians with transplanted organs conquered the highest peak of Ukraine – Gorverla. Specialists of the Heart Institute participated in this action.
