On September 28, 2019, a momentous event for everyone who has relation to transplantology took place in Ukraine – a group of about thirty Ukrainians with transplanted organs conquered the highest peak of Ukraine – Gorverla. Specialists of the Heart Institute participated in this action.
On August 15, 2019, two patients met at the Heart Institute during a routine examination, to both of them, Professor Borys Todurov implanted mechanical hearts in the fall of 2018 – 47-year-old Vasyl Pavlyuk from Ternopil region and 42-year-old Denis Volkov from Odesa. July 25, 2019, the world’s smallest pacemaker Micra Medtronic was implanted at the Heart Institute of Heart of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine to the patients from Kyiv (67 years old) and Sumy (56 years old) diagnosed with a permanent form of atrial fibrillation, a bradysystolic variant.
5 – 20 June 2019, courses on “Treatment of patients before and after cardiac surgery” were conducted on the basis of the Kozyatyn Central District Hospital, with the participation of specialists from the Heart Institute as teachers.
June 7-9, 2019, the Baku Heart Days International Congress, organized by the Azerbaijan Society for Cardiovascular Surgery took place on in the capital of Azerbaijan. Professor Borys Todurov presented scientific achievements of the Heart Institute, Kyiv, in his report “Aortic Valve Neocuspidization: short- and mid-term results of Single Center experience”.
On May 31 – June 1, 2019, a team of the Heart Institute’s doctors took part in the 6th Krakow Workshop on Congenital Heart Defects.
On April 22 – April 24, 2019 a unique multidisciplinary master-class on the diagnosis and modern treatment of heart failure for seven young cardiologists from Kyiv was held. The initiators of the unique educational project were the employees of the Heart Institute and located on its clinical base departments of the National Medical Academy of Postgraduate Education named after P. Shupyk.
On April 18, 2019, the 5th Annual Registered Scientific and Practical Conference “Actual Problems of Cardiology and Cardiac Surgery” was held at the Heart Institute with the active participation of the departments of cardiac surgery, X-ray endovascular and extracorporeal technologies and functional diagnostics of the Shupik National Medical Academy of Postgraduate Education (NMAPE).
On March 14, 2019, the National Medical Academy of Post-Graduate Education named after P. Shupik (NMAPE) and the Heart Institute held the 7th Register Scientific and Practical Conference “Functional Diagnosis of Cardiovascular Diseases” devoted to the 40th anniversary of the Department of Functional Diagnostics. The main purpose of the conference was to familiarize practitioners with modern possibilities of methods of functional diagnostics, discuss the state of preparation of methodological and normative documents.
